The Well Known Farmer
A farmer's pal was amazed at how well the farmer was known everywhere they
travelled. At the I.F.A. meeting the Chairman made a point of coming down to shake
hands with him and while holidaying in London, the Prime Minister recognised him
passing by Downing Street and shouted, 'Cheers,' from the window. They journeyed
to France and Mr Pompidou sent for the farmer and threw a dinner in his honour.
On they went to Rome and as the crowds filled St Peter's Square, the farmer and
his pal became separated. The pal stood beside a Pakistani and soon the Pope and
the farmer appeared on the balcony. The Pakistani turned to the farmer's pal and
said: 'Who ees the tall man in white with the farmer?'
