A Corkman who had just arrived in Dublin from a remote village wanted to send a telegram to his mother telling her of his safe arrival.
'The telegram will cost £2', said the clerk, 'plus a further charge of £1 for delivery'.
'Hang the delivery charge', said the Corkman, Til write her a letter telling her to call and collect it at the post office'.
